Fleet Manager

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
• 10-15+ years of experience in fleet or transport operations
• Hands-on experience managing medium to large fleets
• Professional certifications in fleet management or logistics (added advantage)
• Strong understanding of East African road networks and local operating environments

• Manage day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring availability, reliability, and optimal utilization of vehicles and equipment.
• Develop and implement cost-effective maintenance strategies, including preventive maintenance schedules and repair protocols.
• Monitor fuel consumption, driver behavior, and routes using fleet management systems (GPS tracking & telematics).
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Lead and supervise drivers, mechanics, and operational staff while maintaining high performance and discipline.
• Oversee vehicle registration, insurance, licensing, and renewal processes.
• Prepare fleet reports, budgets, and performance reviews for management.
• Coordinate procurement of new vehicles, spare parts, and service contracts.
• Manage breakdowns, accidents, and emergency response procedures effectively.
• Implement continuous improvement measures to reduce operational costs and optimize fleet usage.

• Strong leadership and team management
• Excellent knowledge of Ugandan transport regulations
• Expertise in fleet management systems (GPS, telematics, fuel monitoring)
• Solid understanding of vehicle maintenance and workshop management
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• High integrity and commitment to safety
• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities
