JOB DETAILS:MAIN PURPOSE:Responsible for laboratory analysis, data and information management, laboratory quality control, water treatment process optimization, and implementing of water quality monitoring programs in the Areas where the staff will be stationed.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS1) Ensure that all issues on water quality relating to customer complaints are handled promptly and appropriately.2) Ensure effective performance and improvement of water and wastewater processes with focus on compliance to water quality standards3) Ensure implementation of Laboratory Quality Assurance (QA) for the Area/Town labs4) Implementation of water safety plans with regard to water quality Area of responsibility5) Prepare and submit to the regional head weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports for Areas of responsibility (water quality monitoring, bulk chemical consumption, customer complaints and resolutions, and general performance)6) Carry out source protection and pollution control activities within the Area of responsibility and ensure linkage with local stakeholders for catchment and source protection7) Provide chemical usage data and ensure sufficient Bulk chemical stock in Areas through proper consumption and projections. Conduct jar tests and ensure proper mixing and appropriate chemical doses are applied at the water treatment plant8) Implement the cleaning and maintenance schedules at the treatment plant and water distribution network.9) Conduct water quality monitoring through routine water and wastewater sampling in assigned Area/sampling points and testing using the standard operating procedures.10) Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisorTHE PERSONIn order to be considered for this position, the applicant must have worked for at least one (01) year and should possess the following:EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION/TRAINING7) Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Bachelor of Science in industrial Chemistry, Bachelor of Science Technology Chemistry, Bachelor of chemical engineering, Bachelor of Environmental Science and Technology, Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology or any other related degree.
Computer skills in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Project and internet applications

8) Experience and Age

At least one (1) year relevant working experience
Age Limit: Below 30 years of age

SKILSS AND COMPETENCES

Familiarity with standard chemistry/microbiology principles and skills in water and wastewater treatment processes control.
Demonstrated ability to work with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals
Able to build and sustain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Self-driven, resilient, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work under minimum supervision
Have enthusiasm and positive energy
Excellent report writing, communication, facilitation and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and highly organized
High innovative skills
