Executive Leadership | Financial Services | InsuranceAbout the OpportunityAn established, pan-African financial services group with a strong footprint across banking and insurance is seeking a Managing Director to lead its insurance operations in Uganda.This organisation is recognised for its integrated financial services model, combining deep regional expertise with global best practices to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and market leadership within the insurance business.Role OverviewReporting into the Group Executive leadership structure, the Managing Director will be responsible for:
- Defining and executing the country strategy aligned to broader group objectives
- Driving financial performance, sustainable growth, and market share expansion
- Leading business transformation initiatives, including digital enablement
- Embedding a high-performance culture and strong governance framework
- Strengthening distribution channels and customer value propositions
- Managing key stakeholder relationships, including regulators, board members, and industry bodies
- Identifying and executing strategic partnerships and acquisition opportunities
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Insurance, or related field
- Professional insurance qualification (e.g. Diploma in Insurance or ACII) is advantageous
- Minimum 10 years’ senior leadership experience within the financial services sector
- At least 5 years in insurance at an executive or senior management level
- Demonstrated success in:

- Delivering financial and strategic objectives

- Strategic leadership and execution excellence
